Owls Head Light, located in Knox County, Maine was challenging to
find an appropriate composition because of the short 30-foot tower. From
the water, although picturesque, the tower would be too small compared
to the other elements. The view from the very top of the stairs was not
capturing the feeling either. Instead I chose a more dramatic angle,
this time from half way up the stairs. A bold aqua green sky makes up a
third of the image, accompanied by receding wind-swept clouds, and the
islands on the horizon. I wanted to create in “Owls Head Light” an
openness and a sense of the great distance one can see on a clear day.
Absorbent stone coaster 4.25"x 4.25" with cork backing.
Beautifully made by CoasterStone - packaged in a individual sleeve
Each coaster is rustic and perfectly imperfect! Unlike our smooth
paper prints, these coasters have slight color inconsistencies and minor
scrapes because of the absorbent stone texture.
